Do-it-yourself cosmetics, from lipstick to eyebrow tint

Make-up, lipstick, etc. For a well-made-up face, you not only need good technique, but also a well-filled wallet, because quality cosmetics come at a price.

Are you more of the thrifty type and still want to have a beautiful makeup? Then we have the solution for you, you can easily make cosmetics from conventional food. Whether it is lip balm, gloss, lipstick, makeup and many more, here you will find the right ingredients and instructions for making your cosmetics at home.

1. Chewing gum gloss

In the workshop :

  • 2 tbsp. to c. chewing gum, different flavors
  • 1 C. to c. Vaseline
  • Red food coloring
  • Small jar with screw cap
  • Lip brush for application

At work !

Put the chewing gum, petroleum jelly, and food coloring in a bowl and heat in the microwave for one minute. Mix the hot ingredients until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Finally, pour the liquid gloss into a resealable jar and let it cool. You can then give your lips a very special shine with your homemade chewing gum gloss.

2. Scented lip balm

In the workshop :

  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • Melted shea butter
  • Approx. 1 C. to c. soda, ex. : Coke, Fanta or Sprite
  • Candle
  • Lip balm container

At work !

Put it on sugar, shea butter and soda in a tablespoon and heat it on a candle. Then pour the mixture into a lip balm container, seal it and freeze it. You can then pamper your lips with an aromatic lip balm.

Advice : do not pour too much liquid lip balm into the container, as the mixture will expand when frozen.

3. Natural eyebrow tint

In the workshop :

  • Almonds
  • Lighter
  • Brow brush

At work !

Burn the tip of an almond until it is black. Now pick up the soot with an eyebrow brush and draw your eyebrows with: a natural dye.

4. Natural makeup

In the workshop :

  • 1 C. to c. peanut butter
  • 1 C. to c. of flour
  • 1 C. to c. olive oil
  • Make-up sponge

At work !

Mix the peanut butter with the flour and olive oil; vary the amount of peanut butter depending on your skin tone. Then apply homemade makeup with a makeup sponge and enjoy an even and natural complexion.

5. Space lipstick

In the workshop :

  • 1.5 tbsp. to c. coconut oil
  • 3 wax crayons without harmful substances
  • Gelatin animals
  • Sequins
  • Lipstick tube

At work !

Divide the coconut oil, crayons, gelatin animals and sprinkles among three small bowls and melt everything in a double boiler. Stir occasionally during cooking.

Then pour the melted ingredients alternately into a tube of lipstick and wait for them to harden. You can now sublimate your lips with an extraordinary lipstick.
